Arrange sessions where students can interact with VET alumni or professionals. These conversations can offer insights into real-world experiences and career journeys. - Simulated Environment
Invited local businesses to assist in enabling students to try a trade or skill – this can lead to work experiences and places the emphasis on local opportunities available through VET.
- VET Skills Challenge
Organise competitions related to specific trades or skills, such as a MasterChef-style cooking contest, a coffee-making speed challenge, or a fitness event. These activities engage students and showcase their practical abilities. - Invite Industry Guests
Bring in professionals to share their career experiences and insights into the industry. This could include Ambassadors or local employers to provide students with real-world perspectives. - Host a VET Careers Expo
Organise an expo where students create stalls showcasing different industries. Invite peers, educators, and industry professionals to attend and engage.
- Workplace Tours
Offer guided tours of your facilities to students or job seekers for National Skills Week. This provides a real-world glimpse into various professions and work environments. - Engage with Local Schools or Training Organisations
Collaborate to hold events that promote vocational education. This could include workshops, breakfast events, talks, or open days that provide insights into industry expectations and opportunities. - Promote Apprenticeships
Highlight available roles in VET and apprenticeship programs, detailing the benefits and opportunities they offer.
